Compressed efficiency in a single box 17.04.2013

Compressors are responsible for 10% of all the power consumed in a mature industrial society like the UK and Ireland. Frequently 10% or more of this air will be wasted because of leakage caused by poor maintenance, bad design of air lines, acidic condensate attacking seals and joints just to name a few of the possibilities. Therefore it makes sense to do regular audits on the power consumed, flow, pressure, dew point and leakage as a starting point. Is this commonly done?

New Demonstration facility at BEKO TECHNOLOGIES 11.09.2012

BEKO TECHNOLOGIES based in Bromsgrove have just put the finishing touches to a new advanced demonstration facility. Nearly 2 years ago BEKO TECHNOLOGIES needed more space and after looking for new premises eventually decided to take a lease on the adjacent unit. After creating the new offices and having extended workshop and warehouse space, there was still a room that was surplus to requirements. Steve Riley General Manager said “I had just visited my colleague in France and was very impressed with the facilities they had organised for meeting clients. In particular there was a very nice demonstration facility where customers could measure dew points, oil contents down to 0.003 ppm and see a catalytic converter in situ to mention just a few of their options. For me that was immediately what we were going to do with the space we had been thinking about. On discussing this possibility with the sales team they were all very enthusiastic so I gave the project the green light” . Chris Norris UK Service Manager was tasked with installing a facility which could demonstrate all the key BEKO products. This meant having: - a larger compressor which was lubricated, so that the oil removing products could be shown, dryers of the fridge and desiccant types and the condensate management products. All had to be installed in such a way that the effects of individual components could be measured by plugging in the range of measurement devices in the BEKO TECHNOLOGIES portfolio. The demonstration room opens in September and already a number of BEKO TECHNOLOGIES clients have booked a session for training purposes. A schematic of the system is detailed - see above.
